A first for not only historic Terragong, but indeed for the Illawarra, the NSW South Coast, in fact all points south of Sydney to the NSW/VIC border and inland to Canberra – today we became the first site in the region to join the Tesla Destination Charging program, with the installation by Paul Dunne of Dunne Solar of a Tesla charging station. The High Power Wall Connector is powered by Terragong’s extensive 10kWh solar array, and we are pleased to announce that Tesla-driving guests can now recharge their vehicles free of charge during their stay at Terragong.
According to Tesla, “the Tesla Destination Charging program provides High Power Wall Connectors at key destinations for Model S owners to conveniently charge whilst away from home for long periods. High Power Wall Connectors can provide as much as 40 amp of power to Model S and are also provided with Model S for home installation, making the device familiar to owners.”
Terragong joins other locations including “key hotels such as Park Hyatt Sydney, The Darling, Hotel Realm Canberra and The Observatory in Port Macquarie. In addition, key shopping centres such as Westfield Chatswood and Chadstone have been utilised, with premium parking locations and wall connectors available to Model S owners.”
The High Power Wall Connector has been installed in the horse box, located on the end of the slab hut and facing the parking quadrant at Terragong – 21st Century transport technology in a decidedly 19th Century transport technology setting!
